Chiado is one of the emblematic areas of Lisbon, known for being a shopping area and an ideal place to sit in a café, once a meeting point for artists and poets. 

Bairro Alto is one of the few areas in Lisbon that almost escaped the 1755 earthquake. However, it did not escape the times of the Salazar dictatorship, which forced the closure of nightlife in the neighborhood. It was not until the late 1970s that this nightlife was rediscovered. Since then it has become fashionable and, nowadays, it is a place full of life.
